In Taiwan ist ein 23 Jahre alter Mann in einem Internet-Café gestorben, nachdem er rund 10 Stunden lang World of Warcraft spielte. Organversagen durch Erschöpfung, so die aktuelle Vermutung zur Todesursache.

Sein Kopf war leicht gesenkt, seine Hände aber noch immer ausgestreckt, als würde er Maus und Tastatur bedienen.

Als die bezahlten 23 Stunden verstrichen waren, habe ein Angestellter den Mann dazu auffordern wollen zu gehen. Erst da bemerkte er, dass der 23-Jährige bereits tot war. Der Mitarbeiter verständigte die Polizei. Während des Einsatzes sollen andere Kunden seelenruhig weiter gespielt oder gesurft haben, berichtet die Taipei Times. Doch wie kam es zum Tod des WoW-Spielers? Derzeit wird davon ausgegangen, dass die Organe des Mannes aufgrund von Erschöpfung ausfielen. Das sei wiederum auf zu langes Spielen zurückzuführen.
