Activision plant ein dem World of Warcraft Online Pay ähnliches Bezahlsystem bei der Call of Duty Serie zu testen. Laut Thomas Tippl, Activision Blizzard CFO (Finanzvorstand), soll nach den "großartigen Erfolgen" mit einem solchen Bezahlsystem auf der Xbox 360 und PS3, dieses nun auch auf den PC übertragen werden.

Angeblich soll die "Kern-Fanbasis" sogar bereit sein, für Mehrinhalte monatlich einen Obulus zu berappen.

While WoW's model is difficult to replicate, players should expect new monetization models for its other games soon.
It's definitely an aspiration that we see potential in, particularly as we look at different business models to monetize the online gameplay. There's good knowledge exchange happening between the Blizzard folks and our online guys.
We have great experience also on Call of Duty with the success we had on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. A lot of that knowledge is getting actually built into the Battle.Net platform and the design of that.
I think it's been mutually beneficial, and you should expect us to test and ultimately launch additional online monetization models of some of some of our biggest franchises like Call of Duty.

Our gamers are telling us there's lots of services and innovation they would like to see that they're not getting yet. From what we see so far, additional content, as well as all the services Blizzard is offering, is that there is demand from the core gamers to pay up for that.

Wir hatten es ja schon vor paar Wochen angekündigt und gewarnt, und nun kommt das Unheil langsam ans Tageslicht....

Letztens auch wieder so paar Typen " bor cod 6 ist das geilste was es bis jetzt gab" das doofe nur sie wissen nicht was im mp abgeht sie haben bis jetzt nur story gezockt xd. Falls sie das machen und dann noch zusätzlich für Mappacks zur Kasse bitten, dann ist weihnachten für mich das ganze rumgeheule ist musik in den Ohren
